The Elementals season 1 episode 1 The Meteor
Of many stories in this universe, there is one many forget, or for some they don’t know about at all. This is the story of the four people that changed the entire world. This is the story of the four elementals: the four people that made the entire world shake. In a small town called Richi, known for its lovely beach and a large amount of grass plains that inhabited the fifty-five-mile radius of the town, is where the story begins.
At an often-visited coffee shop is a group of friends, these five friends were the ones of this story. Kaze, the group leader, has long dark brown hair and brown eyes; then there is Alexander who has short light brown hair and hazel eyes; then Zed, a boy with short curly brown hair with green eyes. Then the two girls: Samantha has long black hair with bright blue eyes, and Cassandra, a girl with straight long blonde hair.
“So, what are our plans for the weekend?” Kaze asked as he sipped his drink and smiled leaning back in his chair.
“Well, there is always the beach.” Alexander said as he turned a page in his math book and wrote his answers down on a piece of paper.
“The beach sounds nice, but have you guys seen me in a bathing suit? I make everyone burn from seeing my white skin.” Zed said as he chuckled while working on his laptop.
“I like the beach, but what about after the beach we all grab dinner at that lovely seaside restaurant? I love their fried shrimp,” Samantha said as she moved her foot and hit the leg of Kaze’s chair nearly knocking him over. Kaze stared daggers at her and rolled his eyes.
“You are being uncharacteristically quiet Cass. What do you say on this matter?” Kaze asked to Cassandra as she was sipping her coffee and reading the newspaper.
“I honestly don’t have much of an opinion Kaze: I mean I like the movies, the beach, and food so its up to you guys.”
Kaze narrowed his eyes at Cassandra and threw a coffee straw at her. Cassandra flicked it back at him, and they went back and forth until Samantha slammed her hand on the table halting the straw.
“Okay children, lets put it to a vote.”
Kaze and Zed raised their hands and voted on the movies. Alexander, Samantha and Cassandra all voted for the beach and food. Kaze sighed as he didn’t really want to go to the beach, but when the five of them first became good friends voting on things had been his idea. Kaze always thought of them as his best friends, but sometimes he could feel a strange amount of loneliness surrounding him. He was always the one in the group lifting everyone’s spirits, but he never seemed to have anyone to lift his.
As the day dragged on the five friends made it through the school day, and the moment the final bell rang, they knew they were free. They all met in the student parking lot next to Kaze’s car; as they were placing their bags in the trunk Samantha asked if they could stop by Kaze’s house first.
“Why do you want to go to my house?” Kaze asked as he moved into the driver’s seat.
“Well, I forgot something there, last time we hung out and I wanted to make sure I had them.”
“Sam, we don’t want to hear about your underwear at Kaze’s,” Alexander said in the middle of Samantha’s explanation.
“Well while you guys stop by Kaze’s, me and Alex are going to swing by my place to pick up my swim suit.” Cassandra said as she was dragging Alexander by his backpack.
“Okay, we are planning on getting to the beach at four.”
“Alright, see you guys down there.”
Kaze drove off to head to his house with Zed and Samantha while Cassandra and Alexander walked to Cassandra’s house. On the way to Cassandra’s house, Alexander stopped by an abandoned strip mall and went to urinate in the tall grass behind the building. Cassandra followed him and stopped before the corner.
“You know, there is a lot that will be happening once we graduate. Have you given any thought to it?”
“Some, but mainly just planning on getting a job and trying to help build up money and…”
Alexander trailed off then shouted out; Cassandra ran around the corner franticly only to see Alexander no longer standing there. Cassandra called out Alexander’s name, but he didn’t reply. She moved towards the tall grass, and then she heard a noise. She ventured deeper into the grass and then came to a small circular crater. Alexander was knelt down looking into the crater, and saw that it was a meteorite.
“Holy hell, I can’t believe this thing didn’t burn up on entry. Must be a very durable material with a high melting point.” Alexander said poking it with a stick.
“Hey guys!” a voice came from the other side of the grass.
“Kaze? I thought you were heading to your house?”
“We were, but then we saw you guys straying off the road and heading to the mall, so I thought maybe you found something interesting.” Kaze and the others came through the tall grass, and when they were on the edge of the crater, Kaze looked down and decided to slide down and get a closer look. The others joined him, and they all walked up next to Alexander. Cassandra stayed up next to the grass as the others moved close to the meteorite. Kaze knelt down next to it; it was the size of a basketball with strange marks on it.
Kaze moved to touch it, but before he did it began to glow and pulse. They all jumped back and walked further from the meteorite, but then in a swift and quick move it exploded, blasting out beams of light. Individual beams hit the four of them in the crater; Cassandra only saw a bright flash of light then the four of them were gone. A couple of moments after she called 911; she noticed some of the grass was on fire. Cassandra moved to the source, and it was Kaze engulfed in flame. She looked down at the crater and saw a hand sticking out of a giant amount of rubble, and noticed it was Samantha’s hand. When the police arrived, they found Zed unconscious in the small water retention pond behind the mall. Kaze was severely burned and barley alive. Samantha was very much crushed, but somehow, she still had a heartbeat. Cassandra refused to leave the scene until she found Alexander, who had seemed to just vanish. All her friends were now in a coma in the hospital, and the man she liked vanished into thin air.
“I really hope you are there Alex; you better come back because Kaze will kill me if you vanished before you guys had your rematch.”
For a month Cassandra returned to the spot and talked to the spot where Alexander vanished. After the month was up, she couldn’t keep going as she needed to focus on her final exams. Then in July she returned there to see another bright flash of light, and Alexander came flying through the grass and slammed into the side of the mall. Cassandra ran to him and began to dial 911, but Alexander’s hand grabbed hers.
“Why, do you look like you want to cry?” Alexander asked in a raspy voice.
“You have been gone for months, and now you are back… What happened to you?”
“I don’t know, I was in some strange place that kept stretching me out and it felt like I was getting ripped apart. Every now and then, I could hear you speaking to me and it kept me fighting. Luckily, I was able to get free and then I shot out, and here I am.”
Cassandra’s phone began to ring, and when she picked it up, it was Kaze’s mother saying that they all woke up a couple of seconds ago. Cassandra and Alexander rushed to the hospital where the others were all looking worse for wear. When Kaze saw Alexander and the others, he was confused, and when he moved to stand, he fell down as his legs didn’t want to work anymore.
“The doctor said it will take some time before you’re up to moving around, so please just stay in bed,” Kaze’s mother said as she helped him back onto the bed.
After a week of rest and recuperation, the three were discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Back at Kaze’s house, he was bombarded by his phone notifications, along with a lot of homework and online school. The time flew by for all of them until the day of graduation occurred. Even after the months Kaze and Alexander lost from their encounter with the meteorite, Alexander, Cassandra, and Kaze all managed to graduate on time. Kaze graduated with a 2.9 GPA, Cassandra with a 3.6, and Alexander with a 3.0. Samantha and Zed were a year below them, and had another year left of high school before it was their turn to graduate. All seemed to be back to normal, and the group of friends seemed to fall back into their usual rhythm until an unexpected problem occurred. Kaze after having a heated argument with Samantha burst into flame but, he wasn’t hurt.
“What the hell?” Kaze asked as the fire dimmed and went out. It was almost like it was coming out of his skin like sweat.
“Are you okay?” Samantha asked as she moved closer to him.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I don’t know what the hell that was.”
In one swift motion Kaze fell to the ground as he felt a burning sensation on his chest. He ripped his shirt off and on the left side on his chest a triangle was burned there.
